Which Book Should We Trust?

A Free Reflection Worksheet for Seekers and Believers

Many religious books claim spiritual authority, but a claim alone is not enough. Before deciding which book deserves our trust, we should ask what we would reasonably expect from a message that truly came from the Creator.

Should that message be stable across time? Should its history and claims be open to examination? Should it tell the truth about both human dignity and human brokenness? Should it be able to correct religious leaders instead of merely protecting them? Should it reveal more than rules by helping us understand the Creator Himself?

This free printable worksheet will help you slow down, establish fair standards, and think carefully before reaching a conclusion.

What You Will Explore

Inside this reflection worksheet, you will consider:

  • Why claiming divine authority is not enough
  • The difference between translation, copying differences, editorial arrangement, and changing a message’s teaching
  • Why a trustworthy message should be open to honest examination
  • What a genuine revelation should say about human goodness and failure
  • Whether the message corrects religious power or serves it
  • What the message reveals about the Creator’s character
  • Whether it only tells humanity how to reach upward or also shows the Creator reaching toward us

These standards do not automatically prove that a book came from the Creator. They help us know which claims deserve closer attention.
