Free Romans 8:38–39 SOAP Bible Study
Fear, failure, or uncertainty can make God’s love feel less secure than it really is. Romans 8:38–39 gives us something stronger to hold onto: Nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.
This free printable SOAP Bible study will help you examine that promise closely, identify the specific fear that makes God’s love feel uncertain, and bring that fear back under what Scripture actually says.

When God’s Love Feels Uncertain
A difficult circumstance can make God feel distant. Repeated failure can make you wonder whether His patience is running out. Fear about the future can leave you asking whether something could happen that would finally place you beyond His care. Romans 8 answers those fears directly. Paul names death and life, the present and the future, powers, height and depth, and then adds “anything else in all creation.”
This study will help you name the fear, identify what it is teaching you to believe, and return to the specific words of Scripture that challenge it.
A Simple Way to Use This Study
Read Romans 8:38–39 slowly and work through the Observation questions. Then move into the Application section and identify the specific circumstance or fear that makes God’s love feel uncertain. Name the belief attached to it and choose the phrase from Romans 8 that speaks most directly against that fear. Finish by taking one specific step of trust in the days ahead.
