Discover the Freedom Only Jesus Can Give
Freedom is one of the most cherished words in our culture. We celebrate it, defend it, teach it to our children, and remember the sacrifices made to preserve it. But Jesus spoke of a deeper freedom. A person can live in a free nation and still be bound by guilt, fear, shame, bitterness, addiction, pride, or sin. Political freedom is a blessing worth celebrating, but it cannot forgive sin, cleanse the conscience, or free the soul.
That is why Jesus said:
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
John 8:36, NIV
The Freedom in Christ series explores the difference between outward liberty and the true freedom found in Jesus Christ. Each post points back to Scripture and helps readers consider what freedom really means, what it cost, how Christ breaks sin’s power, why freedom must be guarded, and how freedom should become visible in everyday life.

Part 4: Freedom Worth Defending: Freedom in Christ must not be treated casually. This post looks at standing firm, refusing old chains, and guarding the freedom Christ has given.
Part 5: What Freedom Looks Like in Our Lives: True freedom becomes visible. It shows up in love, obedience, peace, self-control, responsibility, service, and purpose.
Why This Series Matters
We should be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy. We should honor sacrifice, value liberty, and teach the next generation that freedom matters. But we must not stop with earthly freedom. The flag reminds us that freedom is precious. The cross reminds us that freedom was purchased. The deepest freedom in the world is not secured by a government. It is given by Christ. If you are carrying guilt, shame, fear, or the weight of sin, this series is written to point you to the One who can truly set you free.
